York Barbell was founded in 1932 in York, Pennsylvania by “The Father of World Weightlifting”, Bob Hoffman, who was a prolific writer of books and articles and tirelessly promoted the benefits of exercise. From the 30’s through the 70’s the York Barbell Club weightlifting teams dominated the Olympic scene with over 40 national championships and numerous Gold Medalists. Today, York Barbell strength equipment and free weights expands beyond Olympic weightlifting and covers powerlifting, bodybuilding, sports performance and general fitness conditioning.
